WHAT THE PEOPLE SAY
What you say in your emails!

Following are excerpts from the emails we receive from many of you. Thank you for your kind words, suggestions, offers of help and encouragement. We must confess that half the reason for including them here on this page is for us, so that we can easily read them when we want. (---or need to!)

You and your family fulfill my fantasy to see the world. J.R. (Texas)

Your trip is uplifting in these times of global tension. It is a statement of action, that we must go on living our lives and not huddle in fear worrying about the "what ifs". Smooth sailing. J.S. (Texas)

David. We're going to be following you with great interest. P.W. (Texas)

We prayed together last night that your trip would be smooth sailing and that everyone doesn't kill each other by the second week. Sounds like you are well prepared. Keep God in your heart and the wind at your back. M.B. (Texas)

I am jealous of your trip, it sounds so exciting. What a wonderful way to spend time with your children, I am sure it will be a very rewarding experience for all of you. D.M.

Good Luck on your adventure. My, how I envy you guys. G.H. (Pennsylvania)

Since we home school, we have decided to work your trip into a geography lesson for the girls. M.B. (Texas)

It's really rare for me to read something in the news that makes me smile, and that article has me still smiling. It is just soooooo cool what you are doing, and I know any media attention you get will inspire others to live their dreams, have adventures and not be scared to take a unique path in life. Anyway, I wish you and your kids a wonderful adventure. B.W. (Texas)

In Seabrook Shipyard. I know there are thousands of people daydreaming from their offices about what ya'll are doing... Thanks for getting in touch with us and sharing your adventure! V.S. (Texas)

I find that your goal, and more specifically you making it happen, is incredible. I have often dreamed about buying a sailboat and sailing the seven seas but only have accomplished purchasing several sailboat magazines and dreaming. I truly applaud your commitment to your quest and being able to incorporate your family into it. If my wife sees how much fun you are all having, maybe she will agree for us to give it a try. Thanks. V.H. (Texas)

You are the envy of all of us who only dreamed but did not realize. R.K.

I'm a life time boater with 27 years of Coast Guard Aux. experience and have always dreamed about the fun you guys are going to have. R.K. (Idaho)

I got to tell you something, you may be green with sea sickness by now but we are green with envy. You are doing what we have talked about for 7 years now. We wish you all the best, smooth sailing above all so that you are safe. D.R. (Missouri)

Heaven. I appreciate you, your dream, and I am praying for your family. H.H. (Texas)

I love the fact that your family is with you. That is so neat. We have met a lot of teens that sail with their parents and they are so much more worldly than most of the landlubbers. J.I. (Alaska)

I bet a lot of people would like to tag along as arm chair sailors. R.C. (Washington)

Your trip is the dream of many of us boaters. J.F. (Oklahoma)

Let me wish you all the luck in the world and smooth sailing. I was wondering if you were going to be posting your progress somewhere so us less fortunate landlubbers can keep track of you? C.H. (Washington)

I am so envious and happy for all of you. I would like to correspond with you and share the trip if only vicariously. J.L. (Mississippi)

What courage and confidence in each other you must have to attempt such a tremendous undertaking. I admire you all. May the wind always be at your backs and the sun always shine warmly on your faces. J.U. (Florida)

I have dreamed about a trip such as yours. I just want to live vicariously through your adventures! T.M. (Texas)

Hopefully, spirits are still high and the adventure will continue. Surely you plan on providing us jealous landlubbers timely details of your voyage. R.F. (Oklahoma)

Somewhere in Kansas. A great way to go, one that all of us have dreamed of. J.J (Oklahoma)

Sounds real exciting. We hope we can do something like what you are doing someday. D.M. (Alabama)

The Britton's are making an incredible journey around the world. They are also making a "family journey" that is unheard of in this day and time. Not all families can make the leap of faith that the Britton's are making, but we all could learn from them. Couples, and families alike could learn such things as being loyal, courteous, kind, brave and just having a positive attitude when a person really doesn't feel like being positive. Mr. Britton is trying to exemplify these exact qualities in and with his children. He is taking an enormous risk with the chance of an enormous pay-off. I for one, hope that he succeeds. K.W. (Texas)

We're going to pray for smooth waters for you guys with just enough bad weather to keep it interesting, but not enough to be dangerous. P.W.

We ANXIOUSLY look forward to hearing from the crew of the Spindrift D.R.

Your trip with the kids is AWSOME J.L. (Texas)
